Teen Advisory Board

TAB is a volunteer group of 6th - 12th graders working together to make the library a better place for teens.

Starting August, TAB will meet the 3rd Thursday of the month for an hour and a half.

Guidelines

  • TAB is open to any 6th-12th grader!
  • No application necessary—just contact Dottie, the Teen Librarian, to become an official member of TAB!
  • You are not required to be an official library volunteer.
  • TAB members who are also official volunteers may count TAB work as part of their volunteer hours—make sure to talk to Dottie, the Teen Librarian

Tasks

  • Suggest Teen programs and events.
  • Suggest materials to add to the library’s Teen collection.
  • Plan and lead Teen programs and events throughout the year.
  • Provide input on library decisions that affect teens.
  • Volunteer to help with library-sponsored events.

Benefits

  • Meet new people and make new friends.
  • Learn more about the library and its role in the community.
  • Make the library a great place for teens!
  • Gain skills and experiences to put on your resumes and college applications.

Meetings

  • Attendance is not mandatory, but members are encouraged to attend as many meetings and events as they can!
  • Meetings are usually the third Thursday of the month at 4:00 pm unless otherwise noted. They last approximately an hour and a half.
  • Members may hold extra meetings as needed to work on special projects.
